  Chiropractic Care

What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is both a science and an art . The sciences of Physics, Anatomy, and Neurology give us details about the function of your spine and other joints, and it is the art of chiropractic that allows a chiropractor to specifically restore function to a joint that was previously lacking motion by use of a chiropractic adjustment.

Who visits a Chiropractor?
Doctors of chiropractic are generally regarded as neck, back, headache and auto accident specialists, but that's only scratching the surface of chiropractic's potential. For instance, the first chiropractic patient (in 1895) was a man who had been suffering from deafness for 14 years. You see, Chiropractic is about restoring one's nervous system to its full potential so you can live to your fullest potential .

For illustration purposes, let's suppose you were to cut your finger. Your skin (an organ) would relay information to the brain via your nerves and spinal cord that something was not optimal in that area. The brain would then coordinate the immune system to pay attention to the affected area and to heal it. But what if that communication (the nerves or spinal cord) were less than perfect? Would you expect your body to heal as well as it could? No! This condition is known as a Chiropractic Subluxation . Now let's suppose the organ we are talking about is the heart! Wouldn't you want to make sure that the nerves leading to the heart were functioning optimally?

As licensed primary care physicians in the state of California , chiropractors are licensed to see and treat patients with a wide variety of ailments and diseases. The focus of our care is on the cause of the ailment, and on restoring function - naturally! We don't treat the disease or its symptoms; we treat the person with the disease. Treating symptoms would be like spraying a fire alarm for the noise it produces (the symptom) instead of spraying the fire (the cause). It just doesn't make sense!

here is another type of patient who visits the chiropractor - The patient who feels well. The doctor of chiropractic appreciates that this individual wants to maintain the function that they currently have through nutritional consulting, postural analysis, and strength programs.

What is a Subluxation?
Inflammation is seen wherever there is dysfunction throughout the body. When a joint becomes fixated (or locked) because of bad movements, athletics, arthritis, accidents, or poor posture - that fixation is termed a chiropractic "subluxation." Nerve fibers on the surface of that joint relay to the brain that this area is injured or not functioning correctly. The brain splints the already dysfunctioning area by contracting muscles surrounding the joint so as to protect it from further injury. This creates more pain in the area and thus more inflammation. The inflammatory products irritate the nerves in and around the joint. Some of these nerves are pain or sensation fibers - and so these fibers become irritated and reactive. Some of the nerves lead to internal organs and muscles and those nerves, too, become reactive. Over time, if this dysfunctioning joint is not treated, the inflammatory products eventually lead to dysfunctioning nerves, organs, and muscles.

How do Chiropractors fix Subluxations?
The doctor of chiropractic analyzes the dysfunction and searches for the original cause. Once the cause of the subluxation is realized and addressed, the chiropractor performs a specific adjustment to the joint that was not functioning. The nerve fibers on the surface of the joint relay to the brain that all is now well in and around that joint. The muscles that once splinted the area are now relaxed, and any residual inflammation subsides.

Why BodyPro?
We are trained to go the extra mile in determining the underlying cause of your pain or dysfunction. We feel God designed the body to be self-healing, and that people haven't been giving this natural solution a chance. Unfortunately, we live in a society wishing for quick fixes, even if that quick fix is poisonous to our body, but as mentioned before, oftentimes the fix is merely for the symptoms and not the cause.

We feel chiropractic care should be utilized as a primary means of restoring wellness - well before a medication or surgery.

Our arsenal includes seven methods to determine this cause. Once the cause is determined, a plan is created by the doctor and the patient towards restoring full function and wellness. And since we treat the patient and not the condition, it is personalized just for you!
